Duke Marketing worked with Noah’s bagels in the beginning days. Creating Noah’s first website, in-store look and feel, local store marketing programs and even mini bagels.
Duke Marketing put together comprehensive strategic positioning and messaging that created Noah’s unique position in the market.
A series of 5 brochures were developed for in store use. These included product information, foundation information, and an entertaining Yiddish dictionary for entertainment while waiting in line.
A monthly newsletter was developed and incorporated news from all the stores. A favorite column was Celebrity Sightings, which included an interview with Bill Clinton (he loves cinnamon raisin bagels) and Cher to name a few.
Promotions and radio spots were developed to increase the sales of Smear (cream cheese) and a percentage of store sales were donated to Ruth Brinker’s Fresh Start Farms in San Francisco. Over $100,000 was raised to feed the hungry, and Noah’s received major press coverage and positive response throughout the Bay Area.
Duke Marketing Co-Directed the Noah’s Bagel’s Foundation which reviewed grants and donated monies and food throughout the Western United States and on local levels within the area store’s communities.
Local Store marketing efforts were a big part of growing Noah’s number of stores. Duke Marketing developed a template that could be used in any new store location and programs could be replicated to provide overall consistency and drive traffic to the stores.
Grand opening materials and events were customized for each store but followed a chain-wide formula, which really made each store a part of its community from day one.
Duke Marketing directed store opening special events for Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland markets.
An In-Store Merchandise test plan was put in place in several stores and different ways to display merchandise was researched to see what would sell. It turned out that they generated so much revenue, these display ideas and merchandise was rolled out to all 30 stores.
Duke Marketing created advertisements and directed all media planning and buying for Noah’s. Advertisements were placed in each store’s local newspaper and radio spots for particular promotions. These two particular ads were for a Happy Chanukah promotion “buy a dozen bagels and receive a box of Chanukah candles.”
Duke Marketing developed Noah’s corporate website including a database backend for store locator and food product look up.
